International Emerging Designer Awards – Otago Polytechnic, New Zealand
In 2018, JOANNALSM was selected as one of the 46 emerging designers from around the world to present at the prestigious iD International Emerging Designer Show in Dunedin, New Zealand. Hosted in collaboration with Otago Polytechnic, this annual event is globally recognized as a launchpad for boundary-pushing fashion talent.
Chosen from over 200 applicants across 17 countries, the finalists were handpicked for their originality, innovation, and creative storytelling. Representing Singapore, JOANNALSM’s collection stood alongside visionary works from fashion schools and designers around the globe, showcasing fresh perspectives and cultural narratives.
The event culminated in a live runway show and competition, judged by an esteemed international jury. Designers competed for the coveted iD International Emerging Designer Award, with industry leaders evaluating collections based on concept, execution, and future potential.
JOANNALSM’s participation in iD Dunedin highlighted the label’s commitment to experimental design and thoughtful craftsmanship—continuing its mission to challenge conventional silhouettes while celebrating identity and individuality.
