Layered Imprint explores the theme of identity—as an extension of BASADUNG (SS18)—by delving deeper into the marks, memories, and physical modifications that define who we are. From the fingerprints etched into our skin to the strands of our DNA, this collection is a study of how identity is layered, evolving, and deeply personal.
Inspired once again by the Li Basadung tribe, this collection incorporates fundamental aspects of personal identity—thumbprints, molecular structures, and symbolic markings—as motifs in its design language.

The creative process behind Layered Imprint became an intimate journey of rediscovery—both personal and professional. Drawing from memories of my gymnastics days, the collection's athletic influences reflect strength, agility, and control. Yet, layered within is a quieter aspiration: a pursuit of elegance, maturity, and grace.
This ready-to-wear collection features a synergy of traditional and modern textile manipulations. Laser-cut details, hand-sewn elements, and precision embellishments are crafted into dynamic silhouettes. Crystals—meticulously placed—mimic DNA strands, while hand-threaded connections represent the bonds between atoms. These subtle design choices turn garments into living imprints of individuality.
Balancing playfulness and sophistication, Layered Imprint embodies a sport-chic sensibility. Vibrant hues meet monochrome tones. Sheer plays with opaque. Softness contrasts structure. Each fabric is chosen not only for function but also for its symbolic relationship to the idea of contrast and unity—old vs. new, inner child vs. evolving self.
